A sample of your blood is extracted in the clinic, which will amount to the total plasma required for the entire treatment plan. Practitioners typically remove two 10 Ml vials of blood, if you are undergoing 4 separate treatments or three vials for six treatments with only one initial blood draw.

Your blood is then processed using a patented technologically advanced blood tube producing super-concentrated plasma, rich in growth factors and cytokines. The blood and tube are then incubated for 6 hours, and spun in a centrifuge, where the plasma separates from the red blood cells, which is removed and divided for the planned treatment.

After your blood has been harvested and processed, you will have four skin rejuvenation treatments and six hair loss treatments. The first treatment can be performed on the same day as the blood draw and each treatment is generally 2 weeks apart. We prepare the skin during each treatment and supply you with all of the pre- and post-treatment creams you will require.

 

For skin, the growth factors and cytokines are reintroduced into problem areas via injections and or by micro-needling. Micro-needling creates small and controlled injuries to the skin, which can send signals to the body to produce growth factors that are responsible for healing and skin rejuvenation. When Factor4 serum is applied along with the micro-needling procedure, it will sink deeply into the skin and can begin the healing process to rejuvenate your skin.

 

Factor4 is not just a skin treatment, It can also be used in hair health and regrowth. Because Factor4 can rejuvenate the tissues surrounding the hair follicles, it stimulates the follicle to function normally if they have been impaired.

When used for hair thinning and loss, Factor4 can regrow hair, thicken strands and can improve the condition of the scalp to slow the rate of hair loss. It can also activate the proliferative stage of hair growth, this can typically result in fuller, healthier hair.

 

Possible side effects

Most patients will have some degree of swelling and redness associated with the treatment. This is known as a microvascular reaction and is expected, however, usually settles within 24 hours. There may also be some discomfort, bleeding or bruising. Infection is rare, but can occur. The redness and swelling generally resolves within 24 hours. Small bruises may take 1-2 weeks to resolve. 

 

Aftercare

After 12 hours you can then wash the treated area, applying a hydrating serum, recovery balm or hypoallergenic moisturiser is recommended. Only use mild cleansing products. Do not use any ‘active’ products such as retinol or AHA’s for 5 days. Avoid touching or rubbing the area. Sun protection SPF 50+ is vital for the first week to prevent pigment changes in the skin and no swimming for 5 days.

 

When will I see results?

For skin rejuvenation improvement in skin tone and texture are often noticeable after the first treatment. Induction of collagen will take 4-6 weeks and will continue for several months. In hair loss treatment most patients will notice a thickening in their hair by 6 weeks, however this will continue to improve over the following 12 months.
